Just One Thing

John Mauldins

John Mauldin is a very respected financial writer and advisor. He conceived an absolutely brilliant idea and executed it perfectly in creating this book. The book has 12 chapters, each written by a successful investor or trader. Mauldin has asked each of them to chose Just One Thing to write about, the one thing their experience has taught them is critical to success in investing, business, and life. The result is a treasure of practical wisdom that will help each and every one of us to live better and more fully, and perhaps to even be more successful in our investments and/or careers.

I can't say that I agree with all twelve viewpoints. Nor can I say that each chapter was totally exciting and engrossing. However, some of writers were so brilliant and so helpful to me, that despite my over 30 years in the investment game I feel my game was turned up many notches by reading, enjoying, and absorbing some of the lessons and wisdom in this book.

I think the chapters written by Andy Kessler, Dennis Gartman, A. Gary Shilling, James Montier, George Gilder, and Richard Russell are priceless.

Every investor or potential investor must read this book. Besides providing essential information, it is very enjoyable. Review by Len Oppenheim
