Pandit Rajmani Tigunait

The author of this book, Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, is the spiritual head of the Himalayan Institute, and hand picked successor to Swami Rama. Pundit Tigunait has authored a number of books and provides spiritual guidance. He holds two doctorates and he has access to a vast range of spiritual wisdom.

This book is a marvelous compilation of stories about eight great Vedic sages spanning thousands of years. What I found most compelling about this book is the simplicity of style by which Pandit Tigunait has succeeded in bringing lofty philosophical concepts home to the reader in a most engrossing and entertaining manner.

Each of eight different sages has a chapter devoted to him. Some of the most famous include Vashishta, Dattateya, and Shankaracharya. Each chapter is a lesson in and of itself and the book is thematically joined.

I would say that one who purchases and reads this book would get more than his or her money’s worth just from the chapter on Shankaracharya.

This is fine little book that I look forward to re-reading many times in the coming years.
