Martin Heidegger’s Introduction to Metaphysics fired up my life-long quest for awakened insight; the roots of existence; and values, obligations, and responsibilities connected with living a meaningful life. Asked to read and review Introduction to Metaphysics to complete a sophomore undergraduate course in metaphysics in 1967, I spent a summer pondering every nuance and character. I was left with a consuming thirst to probe further. What Heidegger presents in abstract, Western intellectual thought, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi presents to me in a simple, lucid, accessible synthesis of Eastern and Western metaphysics.
