My absolutely favorite nature book...combines a love of all things fauna and flora. Bill and an eccentric friend named Katz from Des Moines, Iowa decide to walk the entire length of the Appalachian Trail (over 2,000 miles.) The results are laugh out loud funny, intermixed with an educational study of the lands of the eastern seaboard. Bryson’s sense of comic timing mixed with his deep love of the countryside makes for addicting reading.
